Marking Ten Years of Global Recognition for Malaysian-Made Excellence

We are proud to announce that Getha has once again strengthened Malaysia’s presence on the global stage after winning Brand of the Year in the Furniture, Mattresses and Bedding category at the 2025 – 2026 World Branding Awards in Osaka. This win marks our tenth recognition since 2015, a milestone that reflects our consistency in championing Malaysian natural latex and raising the standard of world-class homegrown brands.

Since our founding in 1969, our identity has been rooted in Malaysia’s heritage of natural latex. Our name, derived from the Malay word “getah,” reflects both our origin and our commitment to elevating local rubber craftsmanship. Today, our 100% natural latex bedding continues to reach consumers in more than 30 countries, carrying Malaysian innovation far beyond our borders.

Behind our growth is a supply chain built around approximately 120 million rubber trees, a production capacity of up to 121,000 mattresses per year, and a dedicated team of more than 300 employees including veteran team members who have been with us for over four decades. As we move forward, we are preparing to introduce a groundbreaking new product at the end of 2025, developed through nearly ten years of research at our state-of-the-art facility. This next innovation will reflect our ongoing commitment to pushing the boundaries of Malaysian-made latex technology.

Accepting the award in Osaka, our Executive Director Yong Mei Tsin reflected on the journey that brought us here. From our beginnings as a small Malaysian brand working with natural latex to standing among global names today, the recognition serves as a powerful reminder of the dedication and craftsmanship of our team. Our Project Director, Kevin Tan, joined her on stage as we accepted the award on behalf of everyone at Getha.

This year’s awards held for the first time outside of London, at the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts involved a rigorous review of more than 1,000 brands across 66 countries, with fewer than 100 selected as winners. The World Branding Forum’s evaluation process combines consumer research, brand valuation, market studies, and online voting, making the accolade one of the most comprehensive assessments of brand excellence worldwide.

Sharing the stage with esteemed brands such as IKEA, Nike, Bangkok Bank, Lurpak, Sennheiser, Kopi Kenangan, Yakult, and leading Malaysian names like MR.DIY, Maybank, Tenaga Nasional, ZUS, and Watsons positions Getha among some of the most influential global and regional icons. Past honorees have included Apple, Coca-Cola, Spotify, BYD, as well as Malaysian leaders such as Petronas, AirAsia, and Farm Fresh.
